Choose and customize catalog designs
Use a ready-made design, set defaults and save custom templates for your brand.
Select a screenshot to view it at full size.
Before you start
A catalog template defines the cover, repeated catalog pages, product card and back cover. Open Settings → Manage templates. The Nezify templates tab contains built-ins; My templates contains your saved custom designs. A template change affects later generation, not files already downloaded.
See Plans and limits for current allowances and access.
Step 1 — Browse available designs
Open Settings → Manage templates. The current built-in designs are Classic, Modern Grid, Image First, Editorial and Lookbook. Each contains a cover, catalog pages, a product card and a back cover.
Free can use Classic. The other current built-ins require Starter or higher for new assignments. Locked designs remain visible so you can review the required plan.
Step 2 — Check the default and overrides
- In Settings → Manage templates, select the intended catalog design.
- Review the Selected template information and any plan lock.
- Choose Set as shop default when it is offered. A design already marked Shop default needs no change.
- For one collection only, use Change template in its Catalog PDFs row instead.
Changing the shop default can replace a design kept from an earlier plan. Read any confirmation carefully; choosing a replacement can give up that continuity. Existing generated files are unchanged.
Step 3 — Customize and save a design
- Choose Customize on an available design.
- Edit the required sections and choose Preview PDF to inspect sample output.
- Choose Save. For a built-in design, finish the custom-template naming confirmation instead of overwriting the built-in.
- Find the saved design under My templates. For an existing custom template, saving updates that reusable template.
Active custom-template limits: Free 1; Starter 20; Growth 50; Business Unlimited. These are template limits, not PDF allowances.
If the current plan has no available custom slot, resolve that limit before saving a new design. See Use the visual editor.
Step 4 — Find the saved custom template
- Return to Manage templates and open My templates.
- Select the saved design and review its name and selected state.
- Reopen the editor to confirm the intended changes.
- Assign it as the shop default or to the intended collection only when ready.
Saving and assigning a template are different actions. A new custom template does not automatically change every collection assignment.
Important notes when a plan changes
Some previously granted templates can continue working after a downgrade. That continuity does not unlock new premium assignments or create additional custom-template capacity. Use the lock and plan information shown in the app for the specific resource.
Expected result
Your reusable design is in My templates, and you know whether the shop or a collection uses it. A built-in remains available as the original starting point.
Troubleshooting templates
- Locked design: read the plan shown by the lock; seeing the preview does not grant access.
- Cannot create another custom: check the active-template limit in Plans and limits.
- New output still uses another design: check the collection override, not only the selected editor tab.
